Open Burning Season Closes: April 15, 2026
Effective April 15, 2026, all Open Burning on Bowen Island is prohibited, except for campfires, when permitted by current fire conditions.
This means that after April 15, only campfires are allowed on Bowen Island, and only when fire conditions permit.
All other open burning is prohibited.
New Water Conservation Bylaw to Support Sustainable Water Management
Bowen Island Municipal Council has adopted a new Water Conservation Bylaw that strengthens the Municipality’s ability to protect and manage the community’s limited supply of municipally treated water during peak demand periods.
