Open Burning Season Closes: April 15, 2026

Effective April 15, 2026, all Open Burning on Bowen Island is prohibited, except for campfires, when permitted by current fire conditions.

This means that after April 15, only campfires are allowed on Bowen Island, and only when fire conditions permit.

All other open burning is prohibited.

Stage 2 Water Use Restrictions Begin May 1, 2026

Bowen Island Municipality will move directly to Stage 2 water use restrictions effective May 1, 2026, under the Municipality’s newly adopted Water Conservation Bylaw. Stage 2 restrictions will remain in place unless amended to a higher or lower stage based on water supply conditions.
