Planning inquiries and applications are now online

Municipal Hall is closed to the public due to current health advisories, so we have moved our Planning & Development department online. Most planning functions will be completed online and digitally.

Paper inquiries and applications will continue to be accepted via the drop box located on the porch door of Municipal Hall. But, please note that processing times for paper submissions will be extended as most staff are working remotely.

Transit strike may affect Bowen commuters

Unifor has announced an escalation of job action that will include a full work stoppage impacting commuters from Wednesday, November 27 to Friday, November 29. As a result, there will be no Translink bus or SeaBus service.

The local transit routes on Bowen Island and West Vancouver Blue Bus service should not be affected by this job action, but the 257 Express bus is operated by Translink and will be affected. Bowen Island commuters taking transit on the lower mainland may want to check TransLink alerts to determine any cancellations or delays.

Alternative Approval Process for Cove Bay Water Treatment Plant project

An Alternative Approval Process (AAP) is underway for Bylaw 488. The bylaw is to authorize the Municipality to borrow up to $2,533,000 to build the Cove Bay Water Treatment Plant. Council intends to adopt this bylaw unless at least 10% of electors in the Cove Bay Water System Local Service Area oppose the bylaw by submitting an Elector Response Form. The deadline to submit a form is 4:30 pm on Monday, October 21, 2019.
