Council passed a recommendation at Monday’s Regular Council meeting on January 23, 2023, approving the expenditure of $5000 for consultation with Green Mountain Technologies to further investigate the Earth Flow system’s suitability for the On-Island Compost Facility.
The annual volume of green waste produced by the Island is about to exceed the annual capacity of the original Hot Rot compost system planned for the facility. The grant funding for the original plan can be used for the alternative system.
