Project Description

A rezoning/Official Community Plan amendment application is being considered for the parcel containing Veterans Park (shown on map) to facilitate community uses, including community park, auxiliary public works yard and future school site.

The proposed bylaw and background material may be viewed below, or at Municipal Hall between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding statutory holidays).

That Council refer Bylaw Nos. 473, 2018 & 474, 2018 to the Advisory Planning Commission, West Vancouver School District No.45 and the Islands Trust; and That Council direct staff to report back with the results of the referral of the application.

That the Advisory Planning Commission support the proposed rezoning of Veterans Park (Rezoning Application RZ-04-2018 / OCP-01-2018) to OCP: P (Municipal Park) and IND (Industrial) and LUB: P2 (Multi-Use Activity Park) and IM (Industrial Medium) with the following comment:

The Advisory Planning Commission encourages future flexibility regarding changes of use on the P2 parcel and encourages limitation on the size of the industrial component to its current area.

That the Parks, Trails and Greenways Advisory Committee support the proposed Official Community Plan (OCP) and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) amendments for Veterans Park rezoning applications RZ-04-2018 and OCP-01-2018 to designations P (Municipal Park) and IND (Industrial); and to zones P2 (Multi-Use Activity Park) and IM (Industrial Medium).
