Project Description
Bowen Island Municipality has received a Temporary Use Application to allow a retreat centre as an accessory use at 712 Channelview Drive.
Staff will introduce the application to Council at the January 26, 2026 Council Meeting. At that meeting Council has two options: to set a date to consider issuing the permit at a subsequent meeting, or to not proceed further with the application.
The application is to allow the occupant to operate a Nordic-style spa retreat offering a 90-minute thermal circuit for up to four guests. The experience includes a cedar wood sauna, cold and warm plunge tubs, an outdoor shower, and a forest side firepit lounge – designed to promote deep relaxation, wellness, and recovery. This will be an outdoor wellness retreat area to be situated exclusively in the backyard portion of the property.
Municipal staff are reviewing the application before introducing it to Bowen Island Municipal Council.
