Planning inquiries and applications are now online
Municipal Hall is closed to the public due to current health advisories, so we have moved our Planning & Development department online. Most planning functions will be completed online and digitally.
Paper inquiries and applications will continue to be accepted via the drop box located on the porch door of Municipal Hall. But, please note that processing times for paper submissions will be extended as most staff are working remotely.

Building Permit applications will still need to be completed on paper due to their size and complexity. However, applicants are encouraged to submit components digitally whenever possible. Please submit components digitally to firstname.lastname@example.org
Application fees must be paid before processing can proceed – see Fee Payments below.
Are you planning to start building or renovating?
Check with the Planning Department to make sure you have all the necessary approvals and permits for your proposed development before you start any work. Questions can be sent to email@example.com
All new construction and substantial renovations on Bowen will need to meet Step One of the BC Energy Step Code.
Municipal Hall is currently not accepting in-person payment methods. Forms of payment accepted are:
- Cheque (extended processing times)
- E-transfer - email your request with name, property address and application type to firstname.lastname@example.org for further instruction
